DEVS is a discrete event paradigm that allows a hierarchical and modular description of the models. Each DEVS model can be behavioral (atomic) or structural (coupled), consisting of inputs, outputs, state variables, and functions to compute the next states and outputs. Cell-DEVS allows modeling systems that can be represented as executable cell spaces.
